Zentangle artists are invited to the Swatch of Tangles by Type workshop with Nancy Domnauer, Certified Zentangle Teacher.

The unique aspect of the Swatch of Tangles by Type format is that each page on your personalized swatch will be dedicated to one pattern type.
One page of your swatch will be filled with favorite organic patterns another with grid patterns and others with linear, circular, dot grid, bold, and more. Your swatch will have 10 pages, each dedicated to one type of pattern.
We will explore the Zentomology of Tangles as we tangle beautiful patterns into our swatches.
During each class, I will teach approximately 12 tangle patterns. Over the course of the summer series, tanglers will fill their swatches with more than 35 tangle patterns.
Note: We won’t fill all of the swatch pages completely but we each page will have a collection of patterns.
Students may attend any or all of the classes live, online via Zoom or via the video recordings.

Class 1: Friday, July 10: Build Your Swatch: 45-minute class
Class 2: Friday, July 17: Tangle Patterns into Swatch: 2.5-hour class
Class 3: Friday, August 7: Tangle Patterns into Swatch: 2.5-hour class
Class 4: Friday, September 4: Tangle Patterns into Swatch: 2.5-hour class

Imagine enjoying your Zentangle practice and looking through your handmade swatch to find favorite patterns to tangle.
Your swatch will be a personalized, one-of-a-kind reference tool. You will be able to continually add patterns and pages as your Zentangle practice develops.
Returning students who participated in the previous Swatch of Tangles workshops are welcome to participate again. We will be learning new patterns and re-visiting some familiar ones too.
CLASS SUPPLY LIST:
• Zentangle 5xPhive tiles (10 tiles) or make your own 5” x 5” square tiles from Fabriano Tiepolo paper or your favorite paper for tangling;
• Sakura Micron 01 or PN, black ink pen;
• graphite pencil and tortillon;
• a ruler;
• one-hole punch;
• binder ring 1.0” or 1.5” (available from office supply stores)
At the first class on July 10, students will learn how to set up and build their swatch pages. In the following classes, we’ll tangle patterns on the pages.
NOTE: If you’re a returning student who made their swatch on the 4.5” size paper, that will work. Please make more pages of the 4.5” tiles or start a new swatch with the 5xPhive tiles.
The binder ring design allows tanglers to expand and build their handmade swatches as their Zentangle practice develops. Sources for the supplies to make your swatch will be sent upon registration.
