Zentangle artists are invited to the Swatch of Tangles by Type workshop with Nancy Domnauer, Certified Zentangle Teacher.
Join me for this exciting 4-part workshop series in the summer of 2026.
The unique aspect of this Swatch of Tangles by Type format is that each page on your personalized swatch will be dedicated to one pattern type. One page of your swatch will be filled with favorite organic patterns another page filled with grid patterns and others with linear, circular, dot grid and more.
During each class, I will teach numerous tangle patterns and you’ll tangle them into your swatch. You will learn approximately 12 patterns per class. During the class series, you’ll make 9 pages in your swatch and fill them with approximately 35+ patterns.
Classes will be taught live via Zoom and video recorded and sent to all enrolled.
Imagine enjoying your Zentangle practice and looking through your handmade swatch to find favorite patterns to tangle.
Your swatch will be a personalized, one-of-a-kind reference tool. You will be able to continually add patterns and pages as your Zentangle practice develops.

Returning students who participated in the previous Swatch of Tangles workshops are welcome to participate again. We will be learning new patterns and re-visiting some familiar ones too.

Class 1: Build Your Swatch: 45-minute session
Class 2: Tangle Patterns into Your Swatch: 2.5-hour workshop.
Class 3: Tangle Patterns into Your Swatch: 2.5-hour workshop
Class 4: Tangle Patterns into Your Swatch: 2.5-hour workshop
SUPPLY LIST:
We will make our swatches on beautiful Fabriano Tiepolo paper. The binder ring design allows you to expand and build your handmade swatch as your Zentangle practice develops. Sources for the supplies to make your swatch will be sent upon registration.

• 1 sheet of Fabriano Tiepolo printmaking paper (available at Blick.com) or your favorite paper for tangling;
• Micron 01 or PN, black ink pen;
• graphite pencil and tortillon;
• a ruler;
• scissors;
• one-hole punch;
• binder ring 1.0” or 1.5” (available from office supply stores)
