ZenAgain Memories

So grateful to have attended ZenAgain - a reunion and seminar for over 200 Certified Zentangle Teachers!

Autumn in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island was a treat!

ZenAgain was the first ever reunion for Certified Zentangle Teachers.  Zentangle founders Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts along with their staff hosted a truly special event!

Developing and gaining insight from the founders of Zentangle,Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts while surrounded with creative, artistic and talented CZTs affirmed my passion for teaching Zentangle.

Incredible would be the word to describe this event!

Celebrating 3 Years!

Hello Zentangle Friends!

This summer I'm celebrating 3 years since I first learned about Zentangle.

What a transformative experience!

Within a few days of discovering Zentangle I was sharing it with family and friends and I've been 'tangling' ever since!  Some of you were in my first classes in August & September 2013.  We then formed a Zen Drawing Club and organized an art installation in downtown Morgan Hill.  In April 2015 I travelled to Rhode Island to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher and learned from the founders of this art form.  Over the last three years I have taught 425 students -- it's been very rewarding.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me.  I love meeting new people and seeing how much they enjoy Zentangle.

I really believe that we all have creativity within us.  When you take time for creative expression, you open your artistic self, exercise your right brain and experience joy.  You expand your awareness and have a greater appreciation in life.  Zentangle allows you to focus, relax and practice mindfulness all while producing a work of art.

I'd like to help you incorporate creative expression in your life.  Treat yourself to a Zentangle class or attend Crafternoon Delight - my autumn art & craft retreat. Tangle Tuesday classes begin in September but if you'd like a private class sooner, please let me know.

Together we'll develop and grow your Zentangle skills as you nourish your creativity.

And remember:

"Creativity is intelligence having fun."

Canvas Pencil & Pen Pouch

Form and Function!  Zentangle sells a canvas ziptop bag to hold your drawing supplies!  Imagine using this lovely pouch for your pens, pencil and tortillon.

To begin, coat the entire exterior with Mod Podge Fabric Medium.  Once it's dry, then tangle!   You'll need to use special pens for this project.

I really enjoyed tangling on this canvas Zentangle pouch!

Monotangle

A monotangle is a single tangle pattern.

When you use a monotangle on your tile, the results can be quite appealing.

How to?  A simple approach is to select one of your favorite patterns then draw it on a Bijou tile, rather than the standard 3.5" Zentangle® square tile.

Here I used the Flux pattern on a Bijou size tile:

BREATHE, RELAX & ENJOY

Participate in Tangle Tuesdays and experience calm & relaxation

while creating Zentangle art on Tuesday evenings this fall.

We'll begin each class with time to unwind, breathe, and relax before

we begin creating our Zentangle artwork.

I'm looking forward to sharing my love of Zentangle and the calming effect of this art form with you during Tangle Tuesday classes.   I've gathered a series of specially selected Zentangle classes to allow participants to enhance their skills and practice of Zentangle.

We'll approach each class with focus on allowing students to experience mindfulness and an awareness of their creativity as they practice Zentangle art. Since Zentangle is easy to learn as you follow the Method, you will soon feel relaxed and appreciative of this time for creativity.

Please select the class dates that work for you or register for the entire series.
